Reforming Competition Regimes in Africa for Sustainable Food Systems

Competitive markets are important for a sustainable, resilient and inclusive food system yet they require strong and effective institutions that can enforce rules and ensure a level playing field for all participants. The webinar will provide an overview of competition regimes in Africa in the context of the challenges of concentration in global agri-food industries. Lessons will be drawn from the experience of building competition regimes in practice. The possible reforms to strengthen authorities will be set out, including for effective international enforcement in Africa.
